About Us

Started by a School Teacher

Educate the Nations started from the question “What can I do to help?",  by our founder Deborah Holman. As an elementary school teacher, she spent her summer breaks serving on missions trips overseas. During each trip, she noticed a common theme in the local communities and schools she visited. Children from economically disadvantaged homes and communities often lacked an equal opportunity to a quality education than peers whose families could pay for their schooling. With the additional costs of uniforms and books needed to attend many community schools, some children struggled to continue their education. Teachers in these local schools often lacked the classroom resources needed to provide their students with a quality educational experience, as most expenses come from their own pockets. Compelled to take action, this organization started as a tool to bridge willing sponsors to assist students in their schooling, as well as help support the classroom visions of teachers in developing countries.

We believe that all children, no matter their race, gender, or socioeconomic standing deserve a quality education.

Our Mission

Our mission is to increase and improve a child’s access to a quality education in developing countries.

Our Vision

Our vision is to see each student, who through their education, rise to impact their families, communities, and the world.

What We Do

Over 263 Million Children are Out of School Worldwide
We Combat this Global Education Crisis By:

1. Supporting Students

We believe that every child should have access to a quality education, regardless of their race, gender, or socioeconomic standing. Unfortunately, there are over 57 million children, primarily those living in developing countries, who are not in school. With over 2.8 billion people in the world living on less than $2 a day, it is difficult for a family stricken by poverty to meet their basic needs, much less afford the additional costs to send their child to school. These additional costs include the cost of tuition, school fees, uniforms, and books. Through scholarships, we assist students with these additional items, allowing them to continue their education.

Our Approach

1.

WE PARTNER WITH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS & SCHOOLS

We believe that partnering with trusted organizations is key to successful work within a  community. We work with a network of established community-based organizations, who work with their local schools. Our partners are actively at work within their community and know the needs there. Our partners are carefully vetted.

2.

OUR PARTNERS IDENTIFY STUDENTS AND CLASSROOMS IN NEED

Our partnering organizations and schools identify children within their communities who are committed to education yet pose the risk of starting or staying in school. Our partnering schools also share their classroom vision and needs that would help increase the quality of learning.

3.

WE FUNDRAISE AND UPDATE DONORS OF STUDENT & CLASSROOM PROGRESS

We leverage our community of donors via crowdfunding to forever change the lives of the students and teachers we support. We provide a secure platform for donors to support a classroom or student. All donations are directly used towards the need posted. We ensure financial integrity by collecting all receipts from schools and partners. Donors are updated quarterly on student and classroom progress.

WHERE YOUR DONATION GOES

Your donation helps to overcome some of the key hurdles that students have in receiving a quality education. It reduces or eliminates the cost of tuition, uniforms, books, and supplies. It also gives teachers the resources needed to increase the quality of learning in their classrooms.

100% of your donation goes towards the students and teachers we serve!
